Bring the Outdoors In:

Due to fire code regulations, this transom glass became obsolete when fire-guarded with gypsum board.

From the inside... how attractive is that?

Not very.

...so what to do with a now defunct window...?

Well... being a window after all, what about a few clouds painted on it (or a clothesline with a bit of lingerie)?

A felt-tipped pen put in the grillwork. The birds are pure serendipity: a slip of the pen made a nasty little hook, so I turned it into a bird. ...and one bird deserves another.

As well as the above door frame, other existing painted trim and doorframes in this executive suite were given a woodgrain with good effect.

See more painted clouds on a kitchen ceiling, and this skyscape on a bedroom ceiling.
