You can paint a house top to bottom...
...burn up 30 gallons of paint...
...make the place look great...
But in the course of your work
-- if you spill paint on the stone driveway
-- if you mess up a few shrubberys
-- if you leave garbage behind,
what does that say about your work overall?
It says a number of things:
...You don't have the time.
...You can't afford to do a good job.
...You are inexperienced
...You need a quick buck
...You just don't care.
For one thing:
If you don't have the time to do it right in the first place, when will you ever?
So... assuming you have the experience and an interest in both the job and your customer
-- when you are near to job completion, walk the jobsite and look for any last things
that might yet be improved upon.
This modest home exterior was repainted, and before it's aluminum window shutters
were painted and re-installed, one small detail needed attention.
A few coats of paint won't turn a home such as this into a mansion before your very eyes,
but by taking care of the details, a good painting contractor can make it
look as good as able.
Before the dark green shutters were re-installed, the shiny new screwheads were painted
to match and blend.
It only takes a few minutes... (and hardly worth a webpage, but there you are).
Poke the new screws into cardboard or a scrap of foam insulation.

Give them a good squirt with a spray can of metal paint of a matching colour.
