Use Crown Mouldings for Interest and Drama |

The dark beams made this formal dining room distinctive, giving it a warm country feel: yet the overall look of the room was imbalanced because of the narrower perimeter mouldings. |

Because the new mouldings were slightly wider than the depth of the beams, the solution was to colourize the two exposed tips of the white moulding, and to carefully paint the 3/16ths inch
strip of wall to match the beam colour -- a simple trompe l'oeil that makes everything now appear to have been custom-built. |
